Rochester Great Harvest looks like no other Great Harvest out there. We operate under a “Freedom Franchise.” The “Freedom” part means that we get to run our business in a way that meets our community’s unique needs. The “Franchise” part gives us access to the recipes and processes that GH has continuously improved for over two decades. The result is breads and sweets that will knock your socks off!

We moved from Montana (home of the best wheat in the country!) to Rochester in 1997 for Bridget to pursue her career as a nurse at the Mayo Clinic. We fell in love with Rochester and decided this was the perfect place to open our dream business & raise our family. We now have two precious daughters and are proud to be a part of this community.

At Great Harvest, we're dedicated to the traditional ways of bread making. We're a 'low tech,' old fashioned, scratch bakery. We use pure, wholesome ingredients. We add no fats, oils or preservatives. Each loaf is kneaded by hand. It takes time and a lot of work, but we truly enjoy keeping things deliciously simple.

Our flour is the heart and soul of our bread. That's why we're both bakers and millers. At the crack of dawn each morning, we stone grind high protein Montana spring wheat into the freshest flour possible. Nothing's added or removed. This is the magic of whole grain breads and sweets. That gives each loaf a pure, rich wheat flavor you'll never taste from flour that's days old.
